THE CUSTOMER
The project was developed for a major Oil & Gas customer in Mexico, operating in an industrial context where operational continuity and the protection of critical equipment are essential requirements.
In this type of plant, control systems, PLCs, sensors, telemetry, communication and safety equipment must operate reliably even when the electrical network is affected by fluctuations, disturbances and overvoltages.
THE NEED
The customer needed to protect sensitive single-phase loads from voltage fluctuations, undervoltages, overvoltages and line drops, preventing even short disturbances from compromising automation and supervision systems.
In an Oil & Gas plant, unstable voltage can cause software blocks, measurement errors, operational interruptions, premature component wear and risks for site safety. For this reason, a solution was required that could combine precise stabilisation, galvanic isolation and protection against network transients.
OUR SOLUTION
Ortea supplied a series of Antares electromechanical single-phase voltage stabilisers, in 10 kVA and 20 kVA ratings, designed for critical industrial applications.
The units are configured with 120 V ±15% input, 120 V ±1% output and 60 Hz ±5% frequency, in line with North American market requirements. Each stabiliser integrates a K13 copper isolation transformer, automatic protection circuit breakers, Class II output surge suppressors and a metal cabinet with IP23 / NEMA 1 protection degree.
The supply was also customised with a special RAL 6011 military green finish, to integrate with the site’s technical and aesthetic specifications. The solution protects critical single-phase loads, improving power supply stability, equipment safety and operational continuity in a particularly demanding industrial environment.
