ISME MEDICAL ELECTRICAL PANELS WITH IT-M SYSTEM FOR CRITICAL HEALTHCARE FACILITIES

ISME MEDICAL ELECTRICAL PANELS WITH IT-M SYSTEM FOR CRITICAL HEALTHCARE FACILITIES

THE CUSTOMER

The project was developed for a long-standing Ortea partner in West Africa, operating in a context where electrical safety, service continuity and regulatory compliance are essential requirements for medical applications.

The supply was intended for Group 2 medical locations, such as operating theatres, intensive care units, anaesthesia rooms and post-operative areas, where even a brief power interruption may compromise the operation of electromedical equipment.

THE NEED

The customer needed to ensure safe and continuous power supply in critical medical environments, protecting patients, healthcare staff and connected equipment.

In particular, the system had to maintain service even in the event of a first earth fault, promptly signalling the anomaly without automatically interrupting the power supply.

OUR SOLUTION

Ortea supplied two ISME medical electrical panels, designed to implement an IT-M system with medical isolation transformer, monitoring devices and signalling systems.

Each panel has a rated power of 10 kVA, operating voltage 230 V / 230 V, protection degree IP41 and integrates forced ventilation, insulation monitoring devices for 230 V and 24 V lines, miniature circuit breakers on the output lines, connection terminal block, supplementary equipotential bonding bar and 230 V / 24 V auxiliary transformer.

The core of the solution is the medical isolation transformer, with copper windings, insulation class H, efficiency above 96%, winding leakage current to earth below 0.5 mA and integrated PT100 probes for thermal control.

The supply allows critical medical loads to be powered safely, improving operational continuity and facilitating the monitoring of the electrical system conditions. In this way, Ortea confirms its ability to support critical healthcare applications with compact, reliable solutions designed to meet the specific requirements of the medical sector.
