THE CLIENT
A factory located in northern Italy belonging to a German multinational company, a leader in the design and construction of highly innovative production and automation systems.
THE NEED
The factory was subject to the problem of micro interruptions. These are very brief disturbances, often less than a second, which, although they do not cause obvious blackouts, can generate sudden shutdowns of machinery, PLC resets, data loss in supervision systems and damage to sensitive electronics. In industrial environments with continuous processes, a single micro interruption can result in hours of downtime, loss of material being processed, complex restarts and high costs.
OUR SOLUTION
The solution proposed by Ortea was the installation of a 500kVA Oxygen Zero, a system designed to compensate for micro interruptions of up to 1 second, a threshold that is often critical in industrial environments, where even brief disturbances can cause automated production lines to shut down. The system was supplied complete with TPK (Total Protection Kit), an integrated module that includes input, output and bypass switches to ensure safe and flexible management of the equipment even during maintenance or emergency operations.
The main features of Oxygen Zero include:
- Instant compensation for micro-interruptions lasting up to 1 second.
- Response times in the order of milliseconds, for fast and effective protection.
- Series topology, which guarantees protection of the system without the need for load diversion.
- No batteries, for greater reliability and lower maintenance requirements.
- Plug & play system, which integrates easily with existing infrastructure.
Oxygen Zero is an ideal solution for the automated industrial sector, where the reliability of the electrical network is an essential condition for ensuring process continuity.
