THE NEED
Replacement of an obsolete power factor correction system based on standard capacitors with insufficient service life. The new equipment had to be suitable for continuous operation in an environment with temperatures above 45°C and with a longer service life.
OUR SOLUTION
Supply of a VP10 400V 135kvar 50Hz power factor correction system, with IP55 protection rating, equipped with high gradient plus metallised polypropylene capacitors made with thicker film and ‘wavy cut’ construction technology, which guarantees better cooling and greater resistance to electrical and thermal stress.
These capacitors can operate in an ambient temperature range of up to +70°C, withstand overloads of up to 5 times the rated current for short periods and ensure a service life of up to 150,000 hours, which is significantly higher than standard capacitors.
These characteristics make them ideal for systems that operate 24 hours a day or are installed in environments with high temperatures or limited ventilation, such as electrical switchboards or industrial process systems.
