THE CLIENT
An international diplomatic mission located in central-west Africa.
THE NEED
The project for the diplomatic mission started from a set of very specific requirements, shared with the end customer and the long-standing partner.
- Critical environmental conditions: outdoor IP54 execution
The stabilizer had to be installed outdoors, exposed to dust, rain and harsh environmental conditions. The IP54 degree of protection ensures safe operation even in environments with high humidity and particulate matter. - Privacy requirements: internal HDMI interface (not visible from outside)
The customer required an HDMI interface, but without any elements accessible or visible from outside the cabinet, in compliance with the security policies of the diplomatic mission. - Risk of standing water on the ground: raised base and enlarged cabinet for cable entry
Installation logistics required a raised base to protect the equipment from possible standing water and to facilitate access during installation, as well as a cabinet with extra space dedicated to cable entry to manage particularly demanding cable sizes and routing. - Operational upgradeability: physical separation between regulation section and control section
A strategic request was the possibility to physically separate the regulation section (the core of the stabilizer) from the control/power-center section, so that, if necessary, only the regulation section can be replaced or upgraded in the future, reducing intervention time and costs.
OUR SOLUTION
To meet these requirements, a 2500 kVA Sirius voltage stabilizer was selected and customized, with an input regulation range of ±20%, equipped with a bypass kit and an outdoor IP54 configuration (mechanical solutions and ventilation sized for the local climate).
The site configuration required a raised base, which allows bottom cable entry and helps protect the equipment from water ingress or accidental flooding, and a cabinet enlarged in the lower area to ensure an adequate cable bending radius even for large cross-sections and to facilitate on-site connection operations.
One of the most innovative elements of the project is the physical separability between the regulation section (where voltage stabilization takes place) and the control/power-center section, including breakers, protections and distribution logics.
The integration of an internal HDMI interface, not accessible from outside the cabinet, allows authorized personnel to connect a local display to check status, measurements and alarms and to perform protected diagnostics or configuration, without exposing communication ports to the outside.
