THE NEED
Highly inductive loads (motors, HVAC, compressors, pumps) often lead to low power factor, higher current draw, increased losses, voltage drops and potential penalties. Speed was also critical: the partner needed standardised, reliable systems available quickly for different applications.
OUR SOLUTION
Ortea delivered a stock-based HP10 automatic PFC range (415V/50Hz) covering 72–400 kvar: MICROMATIC 72 kvar, MINIMATIC 240 kvar, MIDIMATIC 320 and 400 kvar. HP10 systems feature microprocessor regulation, contactors with damping resistors to limit inrush, and a design focused on maintainability and continuous operation. Where harmonic distortion is significant, detuned/filtered solutions are assessed (units are indicated for limited/moderate THDI%R).
