THE NEED
The customer’s need was to mitigate the negative effects of utilities causing harmonic distortion. With an area of over 150,000 square metres and 130 loading bays, this large logistics facility specialising in luxury products required efficient energy management.
OUR SOLUTION
Ortea responded to this challenge by supplying 11 ICAR MULTImatic FH20 automatic power factor correction devices of 420 kvar at 400V and 9 MICROfix FH20 fixed power factor correction devices of 50 kvar at 400V, for a total of 5070 kvar guaranteeing optimal power quality for the building’s energy-intensive loads.
MULTImatic FH20 power factor correction devices, characterised by a detuning frequency of 180 Hz and specially designed blocking inductances, provide effective reactive compensation and a significant reduction in current harmonics.
