THE CUSTOMER

The customer is a renowned tyre manufacturer that contacted us for its large production plant in Southern Europe, where research and development activities for special tyres are carried out.

 

THE NEED

The problem encountered by the customer was the presence of harmonic currents in the system that created various disturbances.

 

OUR SOLUTION

Ortea’s solution was the construction of two special MULTImatic FD25 detuned power factor correction boards.

The switchboards, each with a 750kvar/400V power rating, were custom-built in order to faithfully reproduce the two previously installed replacement units.

Thanks to the indestructible bimetallised paper capacitors and the robust detuning inductances on board the MULTImatic FD25 (Fd=180Hz), harmonic currents in the system are avoided.
