THE NEED
The customer’s data centre suffered from voltage fluctuations and needed a high voltage regulation speed.
OUR SOLUTION
Among Ortea’s voltage stabilisers, there is the Odyssey range, high-power static stabilisers that are ideal when the speed of intervention is an essential factor, such as in data centres located in areas where poor voltage quality compromises smooth operation.
For this reason, Ortea has supplied the customer with 3 Odyssey high-power voltage stabilisers (2 x 2000Kva and 1 x 2500Kva) with ±20% regulation that will improve the power quality of the entire installation.
In the Odyssey static stabilisers, compensation for input voltage fluctuation is handled using double conversion technology. The traditional regulation system is replaced by converters that generate the required voltage when the control system detects a variation. The main feature of this configuration is the speed of response (<3 msec), which guarantees real-time correction and stability of the voltage supplied to the load.
