THE NEED
The customer needed to find a solution to its complex power quality problems caused by large input voltage fluctuations and significant reactive power withdrawals from the grid. It also had space constraints for positioning the machine in the plant.
OUR SOLUTION
Safety, reliability and efficiency represent three critical challenges to which the entire fertiliser production sector must respond. The customer, for a large production plant located in Ghana, relied on our proven expertise in voltage stabilisers and large automatic power factor correction systems. In order to meet the stringent space requirements and the need for quick installation, we proposed our Sirius Advance solution, which integrates a powerful voltage stabiliser (output variation ±0.5%) with an automatic power factor correction system that significantly reduces reactive energy withdrawal from the grid, resulting in double cost savings.
The voltage stabiliser supplied has a capacity of 1600kVA with ±25% input regulation and is housed in a 6000x1400x2200h mm enclosure.
The Sirius Advance voltage stabiliser range significantly increases the power quality of an installation as it adds power factor correction to the voltage stabilisation function.
