High‑gradient plus metallized polypropylene capacitors are made with thicker film and “wavy‑cut” construction technology, which ensures better cooling and higher resistance to electrical and thermal stress.
They can operate at ambient temperatures up to +70 °C, withstand overloads up to 5 times the rated current for short periods, and guarantee a service life of up to 150,000 hours, significantly longer than standard capacitors.
These features make them ideal for plants operating 24/7 or installed in hot environments or with limited ventilation, such as substation panels or industrial process plants.
WHEN TO CHOOSE REINFORCED CAPACITORS
Systems with high gradient plus capacitors are recommended when:
- the plant is subject to long service hours or continuous‑duty cycles;
- operation takes place in environments with temperatures above 45 °C;
- the previous PFC system showed premature capacitor failures;
- higher long‑term reliability is required to reduce maintenance costs and downtime.
