THE CLIENT
A global electrification and automation multinational, involved as a system integrator in the development of containerised power supply systems for selected critical infrastructures at the Milano-Cortina 2026 sites.
THE NEED
In a highly visible environment, loads such as broadcasting, IT, security, lighting and control must operate without disruption.
UPS units ensure continuity, but they can introduce power-quality issues typical of non-linear loads: current harmonics, neutral currents, transients and high-frequency/common-mode disturbances that may propagate upstream to the grid.
OUR SOLUTION
Ortea was selected to supply 10 enclosed 275 kVA isolation transformers, installed between the grid and the UPS systems.
The units were built in a configuration suitable for harmonic environments (K-Factor) and with high efficiency.
Galvanic isolation helps reduce disturbance propagation, manage harmonic/neutral currents correctly and protect upstream components, increasing the robustness and continuity of the infrastructure.
