The focus on Sustainability is a vision shared by ABB and several Customers who are bringing the same philosophy to their production processes, such as Ortea, which designs and manufactures innovative products and solutions in the areas of power quality and energy efficiency.

Ortea’s Enersolve devices improve the energy efficiency of plants by ensuring a more rational and sustainable use of energy, a reduction in consumption and emissions. These solutions find use in a variety of areas, from industrial to commercial, and provide both economic and environmental benefits.
ORTEA GREEN VISION
Ortea’s sustainability plan is based on careful waste management, control of environmental impacts at every stage of the production process, and monitoring of energy consumption; a comprehensive approach that starts with the design of its equipment, similar to what ABB does in the production of its switches.
“Starting from the development phase, Ortea pays attention to all the steps of the operational life cycle of its products, and with this in mind, the management considered it essential to rely on partners who in turn operate in a sustainable way; such as ABB, which supplies many of the components we use in our products, including the Tmax and Emax2 smart switches,” underlined Fabrizio Leone, Energy Efficiency Business manager Ortea Next.
VIRTUOUS COMPANIES COLLABORATION
Thanks to the close collaboration with ABB, Ortea has been able to see how the choice of components to produce the switches installed in Enersolve devices (provided with EPD Environmental Product Declaration) is supported by a life cycle assessment where the environmental impact is calculated and optimized over the entire life cycle of the product.
Through its own and ABB’s efforts, Ortea is able to offer its customers a product that is the result of sustainability-driven development. This aspect is increasingly being considered positively when choosing energy efficiency solutions.
One such customer is Selle Royal Group, which began as a craft workshop in the mid-1950s and is now one of the world’s most renowned international groups in the bicycle industry. Responsibility in business management and cultural promotion of a new mobility trend are the basis of Selle Royal Group’s vision, and as an international company it is fully aware of the responsibility that the cycling industry has in the environmental and social context.
