THE CLIENT
A leading dried-fruit producer in Southern Italy, operating advanced Industry 4.0 automated lines for conveying, sorting, dosing, packaging and handling.
THE NEED
Mains microinterruptions lasting only a few milliseconds were causing sudden stoppages, control-system resets, loss of synchronisation between machines, waste and long restarts. In a continuous and automated food process, the cost goes beyond the electrical event itself, affecting product quality, line efficiency and delivery reliability.
OUR SOLUTION
Ortea Next supplied a 1000 kVA Oxygen Zero K microinterruption compensator, operating at 400 V with 1444 A rated output current. Based on IGBTs and supercapacitors, the battery-less system delivers efficiency above 99%, output accuracy of ±0.5%, tolerance to significant load unbalance, a 10” multilingual touchscreen, MODBUS TCP/IP communication and output surge arresters. The configuration compensates a total voltage loss (-100%) for 1 second with correction time below 5 ms; the K version includes a total protection kit with input switch, interlocked bypass and output switch.
